The 10 Worst History Films ... ever
Better make that "Within the last 10 Years" - which, come to think of it, for people these days in America is forever.
Anyway, here they are, with thanks to National Review Online for pointing it out.
Now if we were talking about EVER, read the last post and then add "Charge of the Light Brigade," "The Scarlet Empress" and my personal favorite "The Imperial Japanese Empire" (was there ever an empire that wasn't Imperial?).
Late Update: btw, did you notice that three of these turkeys involved Mel Gibson?

The 10 worst Hollywood history films of the past ten years. What about the Emperor and the Assassin? What about Boliwood's Asoka???
Emperor and the Assassin had several virtues, art direction being one of the major ones. And it seems to follow the accepted Chinese version of history. Or are you thinking of 'Hero'? Asoka also had its virtues, including Shah Rukh Khan.
Although granted, the MTV dance routines came at the oddest moments.
I mean how can you put these into the same class as "The Conqueror" and "10,000 BC"? (by the way, have Marty and Clovis been to see that last one? If Clovis liked it I rest my case).
Marty will not go see 10,000 BC. Not even with me.
The Battle of Kalinga scene in Asoka was, well you could sure tell all the warriors were really dancers. And while I'll agree Shah Rukh Khan looked lovely in his milk bath, what's your excuse for defending him?
I thought Hero was brilliant -- mostly because of its sympathetic portrayal of the First Emperor. And it had some cool art direction, too!
My excuse for defending Shah Rukh Khan? Well, he WAS lovely in his milk bath. And he projects a sense of raw male charisma that we don't see from any of our male actors in the last 20 or 30 years (Daniel Craig* being perhaps an exception).
And he has a cool name**.
And he looks like Jeff Goldblum in a South Asian mode.
* Moneypenny's love child
** In Persian = Face of the King Khan (which is Turkic for 'King')
