It says "with George Hayes". I assume that would be "Gabby". He played sidekick to John Wayne, Roy Rogers, and Randolpf Scott.
Conventional thought is that John Wayne couldn’t act and was “just playing himself.” My theory is different. If you see his early movies you know that he couldn’t act then. I think that he did learn to act on the “tough male” parts and liked the adoration that the person got so much that he never got out of character, and adopted that persona for himself.
Looks to me like he's trying to protect the child, so it's not so creepy to me.
Yeah, I think this is a half-empty half full type of question. Either that or I have an overly cynical imagination.
And, yes, George Hayes is Gabby Hayes. I believe his roles in 'Stagecoach' and 'The Searchers' are considered real acting.
Makes you wonder what he was doing in those other 2,000 or so films he made.
