One more Repub jumps ship

Or is that jumps the shark (and what the heck does that mean anyway).

But, for another whiny liberal soft on terrorism Repub carping about the Bush admin and its supporters, see this from Andrew Sullivan post about a new book.

Jumping the shark comes from that famous episode of Happy Days where Fonzie water ski jumps over a ring containing a shark.

The idea was lame, the setup contrived and the ending obvious to all. At that point people realized that Happy Days was no longer what it once was.

Sometimes you will hear people mistakenly say it is when people realize the show has gotten so good it can only go down from there. Not true. Most shows tend to be deteriorating but it isn't clear whether it is a shortlived slump or a longer term trend. Once it is clear that the show just sucks, it has jumped the shark.

Aha! Blogging is educational after all (where else would I learn about L. Euler et al.).

But, I definetly feel that the Bush administration has jumped the shark, the rats are jumping ship, and some liberals are jumping for joy, unless they are jumping to conclusions.

Wheww! I'm tired. Think I'll go have a cognac.
