Walls of Jerusalem found
Now for something having nothing to do with American politics. Archaeologists have found a portion of the walls of ancient Jerusalem dating back 2100 years to the era of the Second Temple. Here's the story and here's my favorite part of it:
The walls were first located through tunnels by 19th Century researchers, whose beer bottles were also found.

If you are dusting off ancient remains in the oppressive heat of the middle east, I am not surprised that a few beers were in order...
That's why I wanted to be an archaeologists. Until I discovered I was allergic to sunlight (and sweat, and physical labor). But the beer part is ok.
You didn't stick with archaeology long enough. A great archaeologist sits in lawn chair under a tarp while directing his/her grad students to oversee the undergrads. The grad students get the sun, the undergrads the labor.
Yes, but I was facing all those years as an undergrad/grad. One afternoon in 95 degree heat in North Florida manning the water separation machine was enough.
BTW, is it also true that the great archaelologist gets to sleep with their pick of the graduate students?
Unfortunately it is quite the useless perk for Engineering professors.

Joey: depends.
