I started looking at other versions and at the history of this song, and found that “Steeleye Span” had a version that went to no. 14 on the UK charts. On a lot of versions on You Tube including the “Steeleye Span” version a lot of the people commenting on the song complain about the “bad” pronunciation of the Latin. Many complain that they are singing with an “English accent”.
This is what was said about the “Steeleye Span” version on Wikipedia -
“This single is one of only three top 50 British hits to be sung in Latin (the others were both recordings of "Pie Jesu" from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem; firstly by Sarah Brightman and Paul Miles-Kingston in 1986, secondly as a minor hit by the 12-year-old Charlotte Church in 1998). In 1975 Mike Oldfield had a top 10 hit with "In Dulci Jubilo" but this Latin song was performed as an instrumental.”

Interesting. I'll check these out. Cat Stevens also did "O Caritas" in Latin. Don't know if it made the charts but the album it was on was hot, once upon a time (before he became a Muslim).
